Installing the 2nd Story Subflooring

Like a puzzle, things are starting to come together as the pieces merge to form a whole that is greater than the sum of its parts.

We've decided that building a log home requires artistry, not just carpentry skills. One also has to have vision.

And brute strength, dexterity, balance, organizational skills, a good sense of humor... and zero fear of heights.

Today for the first time things are happening on two levels instead of one. It is hard to know where to look...!

Sunburned backs...tape measures...drills... electrical cords everywhere...empty water bottles...and of course the gnashing sound of table saws from below.

Oh, Bill, Bill...got a minute?

We want to go upstairs! (of course)

And voila! Up we go on the plywood covered fork of Bill's CAT.

THIS is great!

"It's looking good, Bill!" Lesley calls out.

Dr. Ellen thinks the view from up here is good, too.
