Installation of the Custom Kitchen
Cabinets by Wildwood

Lesley's gourmet kitchen is a step closer to reality now that the Wildwood cabinets have been installed. There are a few things still to be done on them, but it won't be long now before the appliances themselves are added.

Check back soon to see them installed, as well!

Dr. Ellen's window once again serves as a primary entryway for deliveries. The modules just fit as you can see! Oh, they could have been brought in another way but this was the first choice over using the stairs.

We designed the stairwell to be 42-inches wide for delivery purposes but you know guys, they like to do it the hardway sometimes :-)

This view shows the rubbed detail in the cabinetry...which is beautiful in the surrounding log environment! We chose black for this same reason.

It's all wood and custom built, gorgeous!

The hardwood flooring team was just a few feet ahead of the cabinet installers, which points out how critical it is that things get done ON TIME and in the order planned. All things electric held us up for more than three weeks, so at this point there was not a minute to loose!

More dust, arrrrghh! However, you can now see how it is all coming together...there will be a black panel installed on the front of the island but that will come later. (No, Lesley, you can't cook in there just yet!)

This is looking out into the livingroom from the kitchen. We left a good 4.5 ft between the island and the wall of cabinets for ease of movement. The island is 12 ft long with one large sink and mucho countertop space!

A view of the wall of cabinets behind the 12 ft island. A gas stove with a counter-to-ceiling hood will be installed in the center module.

Opps! A minor flaw in the installation process which, of course, can be fixed. However, it behooves the homeowner to inspect installations for exactly this kind of problem.

Lesley praises the installation chief for a job well done. Even with all of their table saw activity, they cleaned up beautifully after themselves. CLAP CLAP CLAP!
