| Well, our trusty finishing carpenters were there today, as were the stair guys.
The carpenters worked on closet shelving, door knobs and locks, special pine platforms for lighting fixtures, things like that. There are other, big things for them to do as soon as all the kitchen countertops are installed. HOWEVER, the countertop guys didn't get there today promising, promising that they would be there tomorrow for sure. They, in turn, are going to hold up the tile men who won't come until the countertops are in. They also now also holding up the plumbing guys who need the countertops in, as well! This is how things go sometimes in the construction business. The rep for the countertops told Lesley he was sorry to disappoint her. Well, this is not about disappointment. This is about getting a certificate of occupancy, and about subcontractors following through in timely manner. The electricians also did not show up today. Theirs is a huge job and e-v-e-r-y-t-h-i-n-g rests on their finishing the electrical work. So, everything is on hold for those two subcontractors to do their jobs so that others can follow in their wake. We'll see what happens tomorrow. PS. |
