Miles and Miles of Insulation

We installed R15, R19, and R30 installation throughout the house, depending on its application.

Owens Corning QuietZone was installed in all the interior walls. R19 was used for the garage ceiling, to prevent any cold from the garage from chilling the main living floors above. And R30 went into the one exterior wall of the garage that was not made of 12-inch thick poured concrete.

QuietZone is put in all interior walls.

Things really start looking different once the insulation goes in. Rooms begin to take shape finally, and the sheer height of the walls suddenly jumps out at you.

And suddenly the once not-so-obvious things stand out like a sore thumb. As always, three heads are better than one.

Check out the stilts! They make perfect sense when dealing with 12 ft high walls...but imagine the agility required!

These guys are fun to watch from every angle, says Dr. Ellen.

Even at work on the garage ceiling...

But he is on a ladder, how boring!
